SELLER INFORMATION AND SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Who can submit items. You must be a CSS member to sell in Online Stamp Sales. If you are not a CSS member, we invite you to join now. You must also be legally entitled to sell the items you consign. This means that you are the owner of the items or someone entitled to act on behalf of the owner. Shipment to the CSS. Items should be appropriately insured in transit to the CSS. The CSS is not responsible for items until they are received. Items are insured while in the possession of the CSS. We recommend registered mail for valuable shipments. Items must be individually packaged, described and priced. You must specify a price. We reserve the right to modify the description. Any faults, such as thins, creases, pulled perforations, etc., even if visible from the face, must be clearly described. Standard condition criteria are to be used, e.g. G, F, F-VF, VF or EF. You must specify the condition of gum on unused stamps, e.g. hinged, never hinged, hinge remnant, disturbed gum, NGAI, etc. Because, buyers can search by looking for certain words included in your description, be sure to write a detailed description and use standard philatelic terms. This will lead more buyers to your item. Use all descriptive terms that are applicable to your item: booklet, coil, proof, essay, specimen, souvenir sheet, etc. Take your time in writing the description, it is very important. If your item has topical aspects, include an appropriate word to describe the topic, e.g. train, bird, truck, music, etc. No numerical or other grading of stamps is permitted, and such information will not be included in the listing. For educational or other purposes, you grant the CSS a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicensable right to exercise any copyright, publicity, and database rights you have in images of your items and any information you supply for their listing. Terms of Sale. There are no listing fees or image fees. The CSS reserves the right to refuse any items submitted for any reason. Items will be posted until sold or until you request they be returned. The CSS reserves the right to set a time limit after which an unsold item must be relisted at a lower price or returned to you. You will be charged an amount equal to 5% of the offering price, plus the cost of postage, for posted items that are returned to you, either at your request or for any other reason. To change the price or description of an item, Email Online Stamp Sales Payment for items. The CSS commission is 20% of the sales price. You will periodically be sent a statement listing your items sold and a check in payment of their sales price, less the CSS commission. Special arrangements must be made in advance for any other payment method. Items remain your property until they are sold. Expertization. If a purchaser requests that an item be expertized by the CSS and the item is genuine the purchaser pays the fee. If it is found not to be genuine, you must pay an expertizing fee of $20. This is a reduced fee and you will not be sent an expertization certificate. If you wish to receive a certificate you must pay the normal fee. Learn more about expertizing. If the CSS Expertization Committee is unable to render an opinion, the purchaser may choose not to accept the item. If he chooses not to accept the item, you will be charged an administrative fee of $10. If the purchaser wishes the expertization to be done by another organization you will be contacted and you will have the choice of whether or not to agree to pay for expertization if the item turns out not to be genuine. The CSS will NEVER email you a request for sensitive personal information such as passwords, bank account or credit card numbers, debit card numbers, personal identification numbers (PINs), or a Social Security number. Be very suspicious of any email that asks you for such information, it did not come from the CSS. ONLY provide personal data when you are in our secure Check Out area. |
