ANNUAL AND REGIONAL MEETINGS AND LOCAL STAMP SHOWS
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS In even numbered years the annual membership meeting is held at the SESCAL World Series of Philately (WSP) stamp show in Los Angeles, CA, and in odd numbered years it is moved around the country to different stamp shows. The annual Board of Directors meeting and the Annual Membership Meeting are held at this show. Often there is a speaker at the Annual Membership Meeting. The Society sets up a booth at the show to sell books and DVDs and to sign up new members and the Society provides numerous awards for exhibits. The Society offers scholarships to young exhibitors. Sometimes the Society puts on a seminar that is open to the public. Annual Membership Meetings are scheduled for: SESCAL/AMERICAS 08, October 10-2, Los Angeles, CA www.sescal.org In 2008 SESCAL will be in conjunction with FIAF/AMERICAS 08. Since it will be an international show the rules for exhibiting will be diferent.

A booth is set up to sell books and DVDs and to sign up new members, and a General Membership Meeting is held at the show. Often there is a guest speaker. Sometimes the Society puts on a seminar that is open to the public. A China Stamp Society "Best Exhibit of China" award is presented. LOCAL STAMP SHOWS Volunteers man the booths the Society sets up at stamp shows. The Society has two dark blue tablecloths with its name in white letters and a large blue banner with its logo in white. In addition to selling books and DVDs, the volunteers hand out packages of stamps to young collectors and sample issues of the China Clipper magazine, and sign up new members. You can set up a Society booth at your local stamp show. It only takes one or more volunteers to man the booth. The Society provides a tablecloth, a supply of back issues of the China Clipper, membership applications and packets of stamps for young collectors. We do not sell books or DVDs at local shows. If you are interested in having a booth at your local show, let us know and we will send you the supplies. After the show simply return the tablecloth and whatever is left of the supplies. Be prepared to staff the table throughout the show. Most shows expect a free table to be manned at all times during the show. LOCAL MEETING PLANNED FOR TEXPEX IN APRIL
The North Texas Chapter of the Society will hold a Local Meeting at TEXPX April 11-13, 2008, at the Doubletree Hotel Dallas, near the Galleria, 4099 Valley View Lane, Dallas, TX. The Society will have a table to sign up new members. The show is a World Series of Philately show sponsored by the Southwest Philatelic Foundation. The Seattle Washington Chapter of the Society will hold a Local Meeting at PIPEX (Pacific International Philatelic Exhibition) May 30-31 and June 1, 2008, at the Seattle Center. The Society will have a table to sign up new members. The show is a World Series of Philately show sponsored by the Northwest Federation of Stamp Clubs.
