Mythical Overprints 4 - Kerr 199 Sui Feng **Fact or Fiction**

Join Roman and Simon as we do our best to test the listings made by Kerr and later by Chan. What has been missed? Which overprints have been assigned to the wrong towns? What is genuine and what is suspect? - You get the idea......

Mythical Overprints 4 - Kerr 199 Sui Feng **Fact or Fiction**

Post by admin » Sat Sep 30, 2017 9:36 am

Kerr lists Sui Feng as having two sets of overprints but he is unable to locate the town

These are not listed by Chan.

Fisher's Gazette of Manchurian Post Offices does not list this town as having a Post Office of any type.

These look a little unlikely to me - has anybody got any further information?

Simon, Members,

Yes I have this set. I have never seen another one. It is crude and I don't believe genuine. Just from raw memory
it is at the terminus of the East Manchurian RR where it heads out to Vladivostok. I am working on some illustrations for the book right now, and will post images you have requested as they arise in my work.

I am sorry for inability to come up with pics as soon as requested but I must maintain the priority of getting my bookj out, my fellow members of the Forum.

Great memory! Now known as Suifenhe (绥芬河; Suífēnhé).
